PicThrive’s photo sales and marketing platform is built for the rugged demands of tour operators. We understand that you may not have access to reliable internet 24/7 while you connect your guests to nature. Just because you don’t have immediate access to the internet, doesn’t mean you should give up photos as a lucrative revenue stream and marketing channel. PicThrive helps tour operators to sell photos offline in a variety of ways.
One of the most important factors in tour photo sales, is the need to capture your guests and their excitement immediately after a tour. Our data shows that tour operators who offer photos for purchase immediately after a tour are more likely to make a sale. You can always use your online photo store with PicThrive to sell photos, but it may be harder to get them to visit it after they leave your site.
Even if you do not have access to internet after a tour, PicThrive provides tour operators with the opportunity to sell photos offline via unique Tokens. PicThrive’s Tokens are unique, helping to give you more power to sell than any other photo platform. You can sell digital photos, of any quantity to your guests at anytime, from anywhere.
Our tokens help you provide your guests with a credit to any number of photos. You select how the value of a Token, ie. 1 photo, 5 photos or even the full album. This lets you sell to the various budgets within your clientele, helping to maximize your photo sales.
Tokens can be created individually or more importantly, in batches so that you can sell 100s at a time. Some outfitters select to customize the presentation of their Tokens for their guests. For example, you may want to hand out the codes printed onto TripAdvisor review cards or coupons for return visits. You can create a stack of cards ready to hand out after you have made a sale or a list from which you can select a Token and then write the Token code down on a card.
If you believe tokens are too complicated or can lead to error, you can skip the whole Token system to simplify the process for your customers. You can collect the email address of your customers after they make a purchase of a certain quantity of photos.
Once you are able to get access to the internet, you can email them a PicThrive Smart Link to their photo gallery. This PicThrive Smart Link will automatically credit your guest’s account for the value of photos you predetermined. The PicThrive Smart Link will also take them directly to their own gallery. They will then instantly go to their gallery with credit in their account to select their favourite photos. They then build their own custom album that they can quickly share with family and friends.
Lets run through a couple real world scenarios that can help you visualize how it can work for your tour.
Scenario
You get the photos back from your photographer, but you do not have an internet connection. You can display the photos to your guests and they are able to get worked up with excitement. The problem is that you have no modern way to deliver the photos to your guests and get them sharing from their smartphones.
You could provide CDs or USBs, but your guests are traveling with their smartphones. Many laptops do not come with CD drives anymore and guests do not travel with devices that can access USBs. You lose the immediacy of sharing and the excitement that your guests had about their trip, as they can only access the photos when they find a compatible device, usually at home or their office long after their trip has ended.
Once you’re back to a reliable internet connection at the end of the day, you can upload the photos to your PicThrive workspace. The photos will then be available for your guests to redeem their tokens or click their PicThrive Smart Link to select their photos. If you make your it known that photos will be uploaded at the end of the day, guests are more than happy to wait as you have already built trust with them on a tour.
Solution I - PicThrive Tokens
You are able to display photos to your guests, either on a camera, laptop, smartphone or TV. Your guests want to buy photo, so you provide them with a Token for the value of the amount of photos that they want. You have already created a batch of Tokens for different number of photos and attached them to TripAdvisor cards or have them ready to write down.
You complete the transaction on your own POS and hand your guest the TripAdvisor card with the token on it. You tell your guests that they will be able to access their photos tonight from your company’s website. The guest now walks out of the store with something in their hands for the value of photos, eager to redeem for their photos.
Later that day when you have returned to reliable internet, you upload the day’s photos to your PicThrive account. You work is done.
Your guests will then use their newly purchased Token to go to your online photo store and select their favorite photos. They will then get their own photo gallery and quickly share with family and friends. You’ll then leverage PicThrive’s marketing platform to get more reviews on TripAdvisor and Google+ and generate more bookings.
Solution II - PicThrive Smart Link
Once again you are able to show tour photos to your guests on a camera, laptop, smartphone or TV. Your guests want to purchase a certain number of photos, so you ring up the transaction on your POS. You then take down their email address and state that you will email them a link to their gallery once you return to reliable internet to upload them.
Later that day when you have access to the internet, you upload photos to your PicThrive account. You will then select the number of photos that that guests wanted and type in the email address. Your work is done.
Your guest will get a PicThrive Smart Link to their email that will automatically credits their account for the number of photos they purchased. Your guest click on the Smart Link, it takes them to their gallery and they select their favourite photos.
